Management and Directors

The founders of Ginguro have established themselves as leaders in the resource industry with more than 90 years of collective exploration, mining, research, and senior management experience.

Richard Murphy President and CEO
Mr. Murphy is a professional geoscientist who has been engaged in mineral exploration since 1994.  Prior to his appointment as President and CEO of Ginguro, he served as President and CEO of TSX-listed Independent Nickel Corp.   During his tenure with Independent Nickel Corp., Mr. Murphy identified the opportunity at the Lynn Lake nickel mine and successfully negotiated its acquisition.  This was followed by the advancement of the project to the feasibility level and culminated in the successful sale of the company to a competitor.  Prior to joining Independent, Mr. Murphy was employed as Vice-President of Corporate Development with Wallbridge Mining Company Limited.  Mr. Murphy holds a B.Sc. in geology from the University of Western Ontario and an Honors diploma in geology from Laurentian University. 

Guy Mahaffy (CFA, CA), Chief Financial Officer
Guy Mahaffy has served as an officer and director of mineral resources exploration companies on both the TSX and the TSX-V.  He had completed a number of successful brokered and non-brokered financings, including at the IPO stage.  He has also been involved with the successful advancement of mineral exploration projects, including advancement to the resource, scoping study and pre-feasibility levels.  Mr. Mahaffy holds the professional designations of CFA, CA and CPA, he holds both a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Accounting degree in the fields of accounting and finance, and he has studied geology at the undergraduate level.

Wayne Whymark Chairman and Director
Wayne Whymark has been involved in mineral exploration for over 30 years, most recently serving as a director of Independent Nickel Corp. Mr. Whymark worked with Newmont Mining Co. and Falconbridge Copper between 1978 and 1981, subsequent to which he served as an officer/director of a number of junior exploration companies. Mr. Whymark was Vice-President, Exploration Fort Knox Gold Resources Inc. between 1988 and 1996, and was the founding President of Wallbridge Mining Company Limited between 1996 and 2002.

Andy Bite (P.Geo), Vice-president, Exploration
Andy has over 40 years' experience in the mining exploration industry, with an excellent record of exploration success.  Andy has worked for multi-nationals and juniors mostly in Canada and also the United States.
His field of expertise has largely been Copper-Nickel and Platinum Group elements in Sudbury, Duluth Minnesota, and Michigan.  Andy is a hands-on practical exploration geologist with extensive experience in both surface and underground exploration.

Allan Taylor (MA, CA), Director.
Former Vice-President, Corporate Secretary and CFO of Cline Mining Corporation. Involved in the mineral resource sector since 1983 and has been a director of several public companies during that time. Graduate of Aberdeen University, Scotland with an MA degree (Economics and Accountancy) and has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland since 1978.

Joe Prosperi (MBA), Director
Joe is a Managing Partner at Beringer Capital, a private equity firm based in Toronto, Ontario. Joe holds an MBA from McGill University and a B.A.
(Economics) from Wilfrid Laurier University. Prior to joining Beringer, Joe was a Director at Teachers' Private Capital (TPC), the private equity division of the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board (OTPP).  Mr. Prosperi has served on the Board of Directors of such companies as CTVglobemedia, Osprey Media Income Fund, Trimac Equipment Leasing Inc., AOT Bedding Holdings (SERTA Inc.), and General Nutrition Centers Inc. (GNC).

Dr. Lawrence Minter Special Advisor to the Company
Dr. Minter holds a PhD in Geology from the University of Witwatersrand, he is a Professor Emeritus of Geological Sciences at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.  He has been recognized by the Society of Economic Geologists for his distinguished research on paleo-placer gold deposits. Dr. Minter provides direction and advises with regard to Pardo and other paleo-placer projects of the Company.

Michael Shaw Project Manager
Michael Shaw is a seasoned geologist with over 20 years of experience, including extensive work in the area of target generation, exploration, ore resource evaluation and mine projects in the Witwatersrand basin.  Through the South African-based consulting firm Geo-Consult International (Pty) Ltd, Mike acts as project manager on Pardo and oversees all planning and execution of exploration activities.
